How to Rearrange Your Stuff in your Home

Let’s face it. There are certain days where we feel that everything we see in our home becomes more of an eyesore. This heightens our stress levels and results in messy mornings. No one likes feeling this way. So if you feel you need to liven things up, the cheapest and easiest way to do this is to simply rearrange the stuff in your home. Here are some easy tricks to do to give your home that much-needed makeover.

To rearrange your room, begin with changing the focal point of the living space.

A focal point is that “thing” your eyes naturally focus on when you enter a space. It can be a window, a fireplace, or an artwork. Having a focal point makes the arrangement of your furniture well-balanced, Through it, the furniture placement is dictated, as well as the seating arrangement.

Know that you do not necessarily have to push all your furniture against the walls.

Giving your space that room to “breathe” is essential even if you feel you have a small space. Allowing a few inches between furniture pieces and the walls will go a long way. This actually makes the space look and feel bigger. However, if you have so much space to spare, then you can go as far as leaving several feet between the walls and your furniture.

Create an area solely for conversation.

Nowadays people do not have interesting conversations anymore which may be one of the reasons why people go home tired and dreary. Having a good conversation with those who matter to us is thus important to have on a daily basis. So in your home, arrange sofas and chairs to face each other, close enough for people to talk to each other without having to raise their voices.

Make sure you find balance in things you are rearranging.

Whether its an overhaul or some little changes, balance is everything. Be particular with size and placement when it comes to your pieces of furniture. Do not group all large pieces in one area, or small pieces to just one side of the room. This will make your space feel unsettled. Variety is key.

Be keen with traffic flow.

No one wants to trip over furniture, right? Do everything to prevent this from happening especially if you have kids at home. There should be a couple of feet between the sofa and coffee table, and even between chairs. Also, be sure to create a clear pathway so people can walk to and fro without difficulty no matter what part of the room they may be in.

Before consider rearranging, do an inventory of everything you have at home as to furniture and accessories. Plan ahead. You can even do a simple sketch of what you intend to do. This will save you time and energy. Doing this right can be just the therapy you need for a brighter perspective in home living.
