Bishop Arts District Apartments and Neighborhoods

Just South of Downtown in Northern Oak Cliff is the revitalization of the Bishop Arts Kessler area. If you want to be close to Downtown and Uptown Dallas, but the rents are higher than what you want to spend, Bishop Arts won’t break the bank. There are several new apartment complexes in this area, and you’ll have options of finding exactly what you are looking for. Whether it is an apartment with hardwood floors, or an open concept floor plan, let your Dallas apartment locator help you find your perfect spot. If you also want to make your furry baby happy, we aim to please, and we can help finding you the perfect apartment that has a dog park or maybe even a pet spa with a grooming station.

Bishop Arts District was originally designed as warehouses and shops in the 1920’s and by the 1930’s, was one of Dallas’s busiest trolley stops. Since it’s rebirth, Bishop Arts District has become famous: with articles written about it in the New York Times, and USA Today. In the center of North Oak Cliff it hosts over 60 different shops, restaurants, eateries, pubs, coffee spots, and art galleries. Then you also have the options of enjoying performing arts and music at the Kessler Theater, or The Bishop Arts Theater Center. When you want to watch a flick check out The Texas Theatre where there is a one of a kind prohibition style lounge. This area is a hidden-gem with something everyone appreciates, that home town feeling. It is definitely a good way to spend the day or night. At Hunkys you can chow down on an old fashioned burger, or chicken, and forget about the calories, and add a delicious shake to justify all that walking. If you are not in the mood for meat, then try Spiral Diner and Bakery. You won’t be disappointed. When calories aren’t an issue, Emporium Pies will take you back to the 1920’s since it operates out of a restored craftsman bungalow. Their popular Smooth Operator will put a smile on your face and give you a sugar rush with french silk chocolate with a pretzel crust!

Time to Party?  For the nightlife, the Oak Cliff Social Club is a great way to spend some time with friends shooting pool and drinking the local brews. You can get swanky at Whitehall Exchange and enjoy prohibition era drinks. For a jovial pub, there is always Ten Bells Tavern.

There are also 4 wine walks a year along with numerous other events for the family or singles, and fun street fairs. This is a great area to support your local businesses since most of them are independently owned. The Bishop St. Market will offer you gifts, home decor, and products for your bath. Bishop Ranch has cool clothing, home accents and even furniture. There are many more one of a kind shops to explore and don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes.
