Richardson Apartments and Neighborhoods

Richardson is located just north of Dallas and close to Plano, Far North Dallas, Addison, and Garland. Living here makes it an idea spot for getting around anywhere in the Dallas area with quick access to 121 and 75, 635, or the Tollway. Richardson is noted for it’s top notch school district, making it a great fit for families. Singles love it too for it’s convenience to Dallas and that down home feel. With the addition of Cityline, the hugh new 186 acre urban development, housing State Farm and Texas Health and other corporations, Richardson has stepped up to the plate. New apartments and businesses have followed the lead making Cityline, with it’s pedestrian friendly layout, the perfect place to live, work, and play. Having a Dart Light Rail stop makes it a breeze to get downtown or where you need to go. Whole Foods is anchored there and you can also burn the calories off at the fitness center, take advantage of the hike and bike trails, or enjoy all the different kinds of restaurants. If you are in the mood for some retail therapy, you won’t be disappointed.

When you want to chill out or go for a walk with Fido there are plenty of parks and trails. Breckinridge Park is made for a relaxing day to walk, or sit on a bench and read a book and view the pond and feed the ducks. Cottonwood Park hosts a Art Festival every year. Prairie Creek Park has cool natural features and is so picturesque that photographers hang out there, but it has an impressive stream and feels like you are in the woods. Then of course, there is CityLine.

For those of you wanting to grab a bite to eat, you can get great Texas hospitality at where, duh, Texas. Great food ranging from steaks, burgers, sandwiches, ribs, seafood and deserts. Olive Burger is closeby with hugh burgers for a steal, around $5 bucks. If you’re in the mood for a chicken sandwich, gyros or cheesesteaks, they’ve got those too. Whistle Britches which is all about chicken, will make you whistle with their chicken biscuit with honey butter and pepper jam, but the hot dang is a contender and we have heard the sweet corn hoecakes speak for themselves. For reasonably priced southern food, try The Dinner Table. Here nothing is out of the can, it’s all homemade. Café vibe with great chicken fried steak or chicken, bread pudding, creamy potato soup, and pot roast just to name a few good eats. Eastside is another fun area where there are shops and great restaurants. Pho Crimson has become just as famous as their Uptown location, the pho is a big hit, being at the top of the list.

The City of Richardson Parks and Recreation puts together some of the most up and coming happenings in the country, including the Cottonwood Art Festival which has been held since 1969. There is also the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival that has six performance stages which highlight regional, national and local bands. Also hosted is the singer/songwriters contest, and kid and teen contests. Put this on your calendar for the third weekend every May. The Huffhines Art Trails has been having it’s annual arts and crafts fair since 1976. It’s the fourth weekend in Oct. To get in the Christmas spirit, let’s not forget about Santa’s Village at Richardson’s City Hall, with 17 magical houses set up and an array of entertainment. Then there is the Christmas Parade that is on the first Saturday in Dec. Fun for kids and the kid in you! At Breckinridge Park on the Fourth of July watch the sky light up with this traditional event that is open and free to anyone that wants to come. I am talking Fireworks, and it is something to see.

To sum it up, Richardson is a destination that will fit your lifestyle with whatever you are looking for.  Let us, your Richardson apartment locator, help you find that perfect home.
